I started my first business at 19 by identifying a gap in the market, taking a leap of faith, and learning every step of the way as I turned my idea into reality.

I built the business from the ground up with no safety net—just determination, resourcefulness, and a willingness to learn from every setback. I started with limited resources, but I invested time, energy, and creativity into turning ideas into income. Every challenge became a lesson, every small win a stepping stone. I've worn every hat—from marketing to customer service—and I've learned that resilience, adaptability and integrity are the real currencies of success.

My journey isn't about luck; it's about consistent effort, smart risk-taking, and never losing sight of the bigger picture.

I have founded and sold multiple businesses with high-margin exits, demonstrating a proven track record in creating scalable growth, maximizing value, and executing successful strategies.

What does a typical working week look like?

I like to start in the gym most mornings as it's a great kick-start. Most weeks are spent in meetings across my investment portfolio, alongside project sessions with CEOs on my consultancy engagements and conversations with new contacts to explore emerging opportunities.

Was there a moment or person who inspired you in your life?

In the 1990's I sold a business into a larger organisation and joined its Board. The company was backed by a Venture Capital firm, and their representative attended every Board meeting. Those early sessions were both intimidating and fascinating; watching how the VC engaged, challenged, and influenced the room left a lasting impression on me. That experience instilled a level of self-discipline and professionalism to my personal growth and maturity throughout my business career.

What's your likes and dislikes in business?

My biggest "like" in business is working with data. Although I'm not a data scientist, I've leveraged data across multiple organisations to understand market dynamics, drive customer engagement, and equip leadership with transparent performance insights.

What I struggle with is operating without structure. Structure creates discipline in how we work, how we report, and how we deliver for clients. Without it, everything becomes far more chaotic than it needs to be.

Best business tip?

Being a business owner can feel isolating, so it's important to surround yourself with supportive people and build a strong network. Keep yourself aligned with your goals by regularly reviewing your business projections. Set aside time to read your business plan from start to finish. Revisiting your original ideas, research and forecasts will remind you to stay on course.

About - What's Your Favourite

What's your favourite holiday destination?

We really enjoy our time in Malaga, Dubai or the South of France.

What's your favourite car to drive?

Defender.

What's your favourite theatre experience?

I was treated by my daughter to tickets to watch Back To The Future the musical. It was fantastic, funny and the ending was incredible. If you've seen the musical, you'll understand exactly what I mean.

What's your favourite music choice?

Oasis but I have a complete and varied listening choice.

What's your favourite restaurant?

Nobu, either London or Dubai - just amazing.

What's your favourite food?

Sunday roast. I can also eat cheese-on-toast anytime of the day. Must have brown sauce though!

What's your favourite film?

Goodfellas.

What's your favourite downtime?

Hopefully watching Aston Villa win!

What's your favourite drink?

I start the day with a peppermint tea. Out for dinner I would go for a Pinot Grigio.

Acquired two existing businesses, Direct Bailiff Services Ltd and Churchill Recovery Solutions Ltd. Working with an effective strong management team both businesses successfully increased market growth, turnaround year on-year with increased profitability. The Group expanded in 2013 with a new business venture in a software market commercial tenant monitoring service, Magnify Risk Ltd. The business Churchill Recovery Solutions Ltd was successfully sold through a management buy-out in 2013. Debt Squared Group Ltd was successfully acquired by The Clearway Group in 2019.
